SPRING AWAKENING
The Advanced Teen & College students of BARCLAY Performing Arts (as mentioned on Bill Maher) bring this eight-time Tony Award winner (including Best Musical) to life on the Boca Black Box stage.
This SPRING AWAKENING story, as told by Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater through what Entertainment Weekly called, "the most gorgeous Broadway score this decade," explores the journey from adolescence to adulthood with a poignancy and passion that is illuminating and unforgettable. The landmark musical is an electrifying fusion of morality, sexuality and rock and roll that has exhilarated audiences across the nation like no other musical in years.
Now more than ever, this musical carries important weight. In light of the recent Parkland tragedy, the BARCLAY Performing Arts family feels it is not only a gorgeous show, but a crucial live theatre experience for our community. Please join us as Marjory Stoneham Douglas students & their theatre family, including Cameron Kasky, Sawyer Garrity, Alfonso Calderon, Jenna-Brooke Bellinato, Leanna Accomando, Giorgio Garcia, Jason Pierre, Kendal Simpson-Jones, Melissa Mauer, Kristian Papke, Kirsten McConnell, Ethan Kaufman, Sydney Archibald & Eden Hetzroni, breathe youthful and relevant life into this beautiful and honest piece of art that has so rightfully earned a prominent spot in the musical theatre canon.
Support the students, community, and victims of the Marjory Stoneham Douglas students and join us for this SPRING AWAKENING.
Please Note: This show contains R-rated language, sexual content, and a gun shot sound effect. All matters are relevant to the story telling and not handled in a gratuitous manner.
