Comedian Rob Bartlett @ Boca Black Box
Rob Bartlett has been one of the most well-respected standup comedians in the business for over 40 years. Rob started at Richard M. Dixon's White House Inn, a talent showcase club on New York’s Long Island run by the presidential look-alike. It was at Dixon's club where Rob met a 17-year-old Eddie Murphy, and the two became fast friends and formed two-thirds of the improvisational trio The Identical Triplets, along with Bob Nelson. When the trio broke up shortly after Eddie's debut on Saturday Night Live, Rob went on as a solo act and became a headliner in comedy clubs and colleges across the country. He has headlined shows at the Sands Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Atlantic City’s Tropicana and Hilton Hotels, as well as Mohegan Sun and the Foxwoods Resort and Casino.
For 31 years, Rob was a writer and performer on the Legendary Imus in the Morning Program. He created a huge repertoire of comedic characters; some of which were impressions of celebrities like Rush Limbaugh, Larry King, Dr. Phil and Yoko Ono, and some original characters, including
Sal Monella, whose ‘Night Before Christmas in Brooklyn’ story has a been perennial staple for over three decades, which has been passed around and reposted all over the internet and
downloaded over a million times.
On television, Rob has appeared on The Caroline’s Comedy Hour, the MTV Half Hour Comedy Hour, Standup Spotlight on VH1 and on Late Night with David Letterman and Conan O’Brien. He’s also had recurring roles on ‘Ugly Betty’, ‘Law and Order SVU’, ‘The Good Wife’ and ‘Elementary’.
Rob made his Broadway debut as author and star of ‘More to Love: A Big Fat Comedy’, and since then has starred in 5 Broadway Shows, among which are Neil Simon’s ‘The Odd Couple’ and the Musical Comedies ‘Little Shop of Horrors’, ‘Chicago’ and ‘How to Succeed in Business’. He wrote and starred in the Public Television special, Rob Bartlett's Not For Profit T.V. Special, produced by CPTV, which was nominated for five Emmy Awards and won for Best Writing and Best Comedy Entertainment Program.
Currently, Rob hosts the podcast ‘Rob Bartlett’s Radio Comedy Hour’, a sketch show written and performed by him, along with Andrew Smith, Former Head Writer for Saturday Night Live. It can be found on all the major podcast carriers, including Stitcher, Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
